In terms of the local ecosystem, GIMed interacts closely with and benefits from complementary Labexes focusing on fundamental research, technological developments such as materials science or robotics, and artificial intelligence. This partnership includes scientific collaborations and co-funding of theses and/or postdocs along the following five axes:
1. In vitro microsystems for point-of-care diagnostics and organ-on-a-chip testing,
2. In vivo devices for monitoring and therapy,
3. Imaging and radiation-based theranostics,
4. Devices to assist medical and surgical procedures
5. Regulatory, societal and ethical aspects at all stages DM development.
