Labex GIMeD associates 41 laboratories, 21 of which will dedicate at least the equivalent of 2
full-time junior and/or senior research activities and thereby constitute the core of the labex. The other partners will still be associated to the labex to run common projects.

TIMC Has strong and pioneering expertise in CAID (computer-assisted interventions devices), systems modelling and simulation, nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, and in implantable medical devices. Strong track record in creating start-ups in the field of medical devices. Awards of several prestigious prizes (e.g., French Académie des Sciences and Académie de Chirurgie, Enduring Impact Award conference MICCAI, CNRS silver, bronze, and CNRS Cristal).
DTBS Has strong expertise in microelectronics, chemistry, biology, optics, modelling, wearable (on vivo microsystems, e.g. microneedles, electrodes), implantable and in vitro MDs. DTBS stands for one of the world leaders in microfluidics and organ on chips domains, and run developments in a fully integrated MD environment (regulation, QMS).
BGE Has a strong expertise in 3D cell culture, stem cells, organoids development and characterization, organoids-on-chip, functional genomics, recognized in the fields of oncology and pancreatic disorders.
IAB Gathers specialists in the fields of innovative tools for diagnostics and (nano) theranostics applied to cancer, blood transfusion, medically assisted procreation and infections with strong clinical and industrial applications.
LRB The LRB is a translational research laboratory developing innovative tools for imaging and therapy in nuclear medicine.
GIN Has strong expertises in the fields of multimodal neuroimaging, neurotechnology, and in vitro and preclinical in vivo testing, as well as human clinical trials.
CLINATEC CEA-Clinatec has strong and well-recognized expertise in the field of neurotechnology and brain-computer interfaces with ongoing clinical trials (2022 winner of the international Brain Computer Interface (BCI) award).
DOPT Has international recognition in optics (micro-nano leds and lenses, quantum lasers, …).
LIPhy Activities at the interface of physics and other disciplines, in particular medical research, with notably recognized work in imaging and exhaled gas analysis.
DSYS Has strong expertise in radar applications for health and MD cybersecurity.
DCM Develops chemical objects for magnetic resonance imaging, photodynamic therapy, nuclear medicine, vectorization, guided surgery, as well as theranostic agents, implantable devices powered by glucose biofuel cells and electrochemical sensors.
STROBE Develops new technologies and methodologies applying synchrotron radiation to the biomedical sciences with expertise in diverse synchrotron X-ray technologies in the field of imaging, radiotherapy and radiosurgery.
BrainTech Lab Develops theranostic technologies for brain microenvironment deciphering and therapies including brain electrophysiological and molecular interfaces and electro-magnetic modulations from brain tumors to neurodegenerative diseases.
BIOSANTE Has strong expertise in heath biotechnologies, in particular for tissue repair.
LPSC Fundamental physics laboratory involved in transdisciplinary research fields, such as nuclear physics for medical applications and the application of particle detectors for health, with recognized expertise in radiotherapy software & hardware development.
SYMMES Develops basic research related to strong societal issues including health technology, with recognized expertise in biosensors & biochips for biomedical applications.
LTM Has a strong expertise in micro and nanotechnologies and state of the art facilities that are used to develop chemical, electrical and optical sensors and microfluidic devices oriented toward healthcare applications.
LBFA Has recognized expertise in metabolism and bioenergetics of chronic diseases, engineers’ innovative tools for their in vivo and in vitro monitoring, and develops novel strategies for regenerative medicine in the field of diabetes.
SPINTEC Is expert in nanomagnetism and spinelectronics and applications of magnetism in biology and medicine with a focus on the physiological response of cells submitted to mechanical stimulation by vibrating magnetic particles (to trigger cancer cells apoptosis or insulin production of pancreatic cells).
AGEIS Has recognised in-depth expertise in e-health, AI and human factors to develop, assess and deploy digital health, independent living, and well-being solutions.
GRESEC Expert in social and societal transformations by analysing the role information communication devices, technologies and their practices can play in a variety of fields as teaching and dissemination of knowledge, culture, the urban environment, and health.
DTNM Expertise in designing specific electrodes, and body-conformable interfaces.
